While Downtown Phoenix is the business center of the city with high rise office buildings, convention center, restaurants, theaters, cafes and other facilities, Phoenix has also retained some of its original heritage buildings too, and has great sport facilities, golf courses, museums, art galleries, a symphony orchestra and even opera (See www.azopera.com and www.phoenixsymphony.org ).
Phoenix has great sunny weather in the winter months, attracting a lot of Canadians and northerners, what locals call 'Snowbirds' escaping the snow in the north, but can get very hot in mid-summer. It is a dry heat and people get used to it or leave town during heat waves. The City has great restaurants, casinos, resort hotels and food choices, hundreds of restaurants and bars, golf courses and it is home of the Arizona Diamondbacks – see www.dbacks.com For game tickets see the website or call 602 514 8400. The downtown Visitor Information Center is located in the US Bank Building on Adams Street between Central and 1st Avenues and they have Streetscape Team members who wear green and navy uniforms and Orange shirt Concierge Ambassadors to provide help and a welcome to city Visitors. Phoenix is a great place to visit and spend time getting to know the City and all that it offers.
I hope you have a great time in Dallas and Fort Worth.
